Letter from Principal
Dear MHS Students, Parents and Community,
First, I wish to express how proud I am of the students, faculty and administration at Madison High School.  As a school community, we faced an unusual number of challenges during the 2015-2016 school year.  Despite the presence of adversity, our students and faculty worked together to support each other and to move forward with our school goals.
Our school, students, faculty and community are very dear and important to me.  I promised our faculty when I accepted the assignment of principal at Madison High School last fall, that our students would always be at the heart of our decisions.  I truly believe that education MUST be about and for our children.
As many of you are aware, I was diagnosed in January with breast cancer.  I began my journey with a medical leave, treatment and an overwhelming amount of support and prayer.  As I near the end of my treatments, it has weighed heavily on me to determine what is best for my health and for Madison High School.  I have reached the decision to step down as MHS principal.  After much consideration and prayer, I feel that this decision is necessary for my continued healing and for Madison High School to be able to move forward at a progressive, innovative pace.  Our Board of Education has graciously accepted my request and has allowed me to return to the classroom in the fall of 2016.   I am appreciative and very excited to be a part of the growth of Madison High School, once again, in a teaching role.
Thank you for your patience and concern during my medical leave.  I will forever be grateful to the Assistant Principals and faculty who stepped up to lead our school in my absence.  I will always appreciate the opportunity that I was given to become the principal at Madison High School, and the confidence and kindness shown to me by the faculty, students and community.   I truly cannot wait to return to my MHS family in the fall.
Sincerely,

Rhonda M. Cuthbertson (Mrs. "C")
